OffKey makes art that captures emotion. Whether in their videos, music, photos & films, they want their creations to depict the common mind and experience of an artist. They are constantly cultivating a direct relationship with Richmond and its creative inhabitants. There’s art out there to be made and connections to nurture. They embody what it really means to be part of a community and most of all, a family.

Previously named under multiple different monikers, the newly dubbed "OffKey" originated out of the West End of Richmond by three brothers. Beginning as just a lyrical ensemble with many hip-hop poets, it then evolved into something wondrous. In the summer of 2021, the four-piece band "The Eye of Life" came to be and time was all they needed as their distinct style and captivating cadence grabbed the attention of many notable Richmonders and creatives alike. With the Hip-Hop & RnB nature from the lyricist and the classic Soul & Jazz melodies from the musicians, OffKey is able to combine these distinct sounds to a remarkable outcome.

"The set ranged in genre, from neo-soul to hip-hop to soft rock. The audience was not only captivated, but immersed in the performance. The array of sound kept folks on their toes, never quite knowing what to expect next, but loving it all the same."

Despite all of these milestones, OffKey’s journey is far from over. Not soon after their origin, OffKey decided to expand outside the boundaries of just music. They integrated and involved many local creative minds to reach goals unimaginative on their own. Even with their steady increase in numbers, they’re on a constant search of devoted, like-minded innovators with the hunger to explore what the term “creative” means to them. All with the outlook to spread the message of love and camaraderie through their imagery, speech and sounds.
